New podcast aims to help support UK theatre workers

A new podcast commissioned and curated by the charity; Acting for Others will distribute revenue generated to help UK theatre workers in need.

Acting for Others Presents… will pair up some of the best UK actors from Dame Judi Dench and David Tennant to rising stars Paapa Essiedu and Olly Alexander.

This first season will include six weekly episodes featuring two actors from different walks of life, some meeting for the first time others catching up with old friends.

The conversations will be about their lives and experiences in the industry from their highs, lows and everything in between. This will include Olly Alexander reminiscing about running around Judi Dench’s garden and David Tennant talking to Paapa Essiedu about the James Bond rumours.

Multi award-winning actress Samantha Bond will introduce and close each episode and the music is written by the Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter Dan Gillespie Sells.

Acting for Others, the charity that provides financial and emotional support to UK theatre workers, will distribute all revenue generated by the podcast to those workers in-need, through the network of 14 member charities.

The final episode of the season is still to be announced.
