Tim’s Listening Party, which started on Twitter, before moving to Absolute Radio and then a podcast, is now hitting new heights.
It all began during lockdown with everyone missing live music, Tim Burgess from The Charlatans realised we all had the opportunity to take part in one great big listening party. What followed was over a thousand album playbacks in real time, together with the people who made them.
Musician and now Absolute Radio host, Tim’s podcast has seen No.1 Music Podcast positions in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Spain, as well as No.3 in Mexico, No.5 in Japan and No.10 in the United States. It’s also the Top Music Podcast on Spotify UK.
Reviewing in The Observer earlier this month, Miranda Sawyer wrote: “You would need a heart far harder than mine not to love this (Tim’s Listening Party). Burgess is an adorable host, natural and relaxed with musicians, experienced in talking about records as an art form. Any band would kill to get their LP played and treated with such respect.”
