On Yer Bike is a new podcast about bringing the buzz of a live bike race straight to the fans.
Sports broadcaster Sanny Rudravajhala, known for reporting for the BBC and Sky Sports, leads a team who go to the heart of The Tour of Britain and feature interviews, the atmosphere and live race reaction from the cycling world.
Co-host, broadcaster Harriet Muckle, will be diving deeper in the sport having recently discovered a love for cycling, and freelance cycling journalist Katy Madgwick will lend her expertise to the team, guiding Sanny and Harriet as they travel around the UK following the race.
Also, pro cyclist and Grenadian National Champion Red Walters will offer his insights as resident insider. Having raced the Tour last year, Red’ shares some pro cyclist secrets, and a sense of what it’s like to be a part of the high-speed, adrenaline-fuelled chaos of a bike race.
Sanny Rudravajhala explains the aim of the podcast: “Cycling is having a Netflix boom, just like Drive to Survive did for Formula 1. And we want to be there for new fans and make something a bit different for an already avid fanbase.
“We’re hoping to use the Tour of Britain as a launchpad to bring you inside the action of a live bike race experience, and to continue on to cover some of the major stories in cycling.’
Red Walters said: “I’m here to tell you all the things you didn’t know you needed to know about what it’s like to be in a bike race. You’ll never believe some of things we have to do to get through a day on the road!”
