Acast Ireland delivers €7 Million for podcast creators
Podcast ad sales from Acast in the Irish market has made €7 million for podcast creators globally since launching in Ireland at the end of 2019.
Last year, it launched its successful Acast Amplifier programme in Ireland for new creators as well as launching new products, tools and services to allow any podcaster to grow and monetise their shows to their full potential. This has resulted in podcast creators earning the €7 million.
Jennifer Dollard, Content Director of Acast Ireland said: “We are fiercely proud of our Irish voices at Acast, and we are home to the biggest, best, and award-winning podcasts in Ireland, from international podcast superstars like Blindboy and Tommy, Hector & Laurita, and renowned authors including Caroline Foran and Finn Dwyer to broadcast legends like Louise McSharry and Síle Seoige and some of the biggest Irish news outlets.
“The €7 Million figure is a testament to the hard work all of our creators put into creating these incredible podcasts. We look forward to working with our wider network to ensure we continue to help podcasters big and small earn money for their craft.”
Micheál Scully, Director of Sales, Acast Ireland added: “Since 2014, Acast has been on a mission to create the most valuable marketplace for podcasters, no matter their size.
“We launched in Ireland five years ago to continue that mission, and with the help of a team based throughout the country, it’s clear that we are well and truly on the way to achieving this objective.
“This money has come from investment in the Irish podcast market by agencies, brands and listeners, and it’s incredibly rewarding to continue to develop our strong relationships in Ireland and help our creators flourish.”
