Award winning podcast Brown Girls Do It Too announce world premiere of live show

Following a successful set of โ€˜work in progressโ€™ live performances, the world premiere of Brown Girls Do It Too: Mama Told Me Not to Come will take place at Londonโ€™s Soho Theatre before embarking on a national tour.

Winner of Podcast of the Year at the prestigious British Podcast Awards 2020 and the Best Podcast at the 2021 Asian Media Awards, Brown Girls Do It Too is the critically acclaimed podcast that sees its hosts Poppy Begum and Rubina Pabani exploring the messy realities, fantasies and sexpectations as British Asian women.

Brown Girls Do It Too: Mama Told Me Not to Come is a show inspired by the podcast. True to the podcast, Poppy & Rubina will be discussing their life experiences with their trademark uncensored, no-filter approach โ€“ touching on orgasms and first loves to racism and family politics. It will include a myriad of songs, sketches, dances, and some questionable Indian accents!

The live show will premiere at Londonโ€™s Soho Theatre on 18 October, then travel to Birmingham, Southampton, Brighton, Nottingham, Leeds, Salford, Bristol, and finishing with two dates in Leicester on 18 & 19 November.

Tickets for the live show are on sale now (except for Leicesterโ€™s Curve which will be available soon) at browngirlsdoittoo.com.

Brown Girls Do It Too is available on BBC Sounds.
