Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden to host BBC Radio 5 Live podcast on climate change

In a brand-new podcast for BBC Sounds, Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden will speak to business leaders about the great issue facing our planet: climate change.

With a new episode released weekly from 4 March, Deborah is on a mission to uncover the gritty realities faced by many corporations in their attempts to reduce environmental impact.

Joined by Wake Up To Money’s Felicity Hannah, Deborah will talk to different guests every week in honest and frank conversations to reveal sacrifices, concerns and challenges that will inevitably impact us all.

The Big Green Money Show will also give advice to make your money go further – without doing damage to the environment. There will also be ideas from entrepreneurs on how to live greener; and why living green doesn’t necessarily mean spending more.

Listeners will also have the chance to have their own questions answered. Deborah, Felicity and guests will consider how people might be able to spend their money, whether shopping for food or investing long-term, in planet-friendly ways.

Deborah Meaden said: “Many of the companies I’m involved with are experiencing first-hand the challenges of the transition to net zero – and the effort involved in reducing their planetary impact. They are also navigating their customers’ tolerance for the imperfect.”

“I’m not interested in hearing from the companies who’ve been trumpeting their eco-credentials for years. Those stories have been told many times. Instead, I want to hear about the gritty reality of turning a huge corporation around.

“I want this to be a podcast that peels back the lid on the difficulties and barriers facing those who want to drive the change; but also enlightens and encourages consumers to embrace companies who are genuinely setting out to reduce their impact.”

Episodes of The Big Green Money Show with Deborah Meaden will be released weekly on BBC Sounds, every Friday for 10 weeks from 4 March, with episodes also broadcast every Friday on BBC Radio 5 Live at 5am.
