Heavy metal band Metallica are to release an eight-episode podcast which takes a look behind the scenes of The Black Album.
The Metallica Podcast will celebrate the albumโs 30th anniversary, which is being remastered for re-release in September.
In a tweet, the band announced that the podcast is โcoming soonโ. It also included a teaser where drummer Lars Ulrich said: โThis album was the right combination of songs, right combination of producer with the right combination of desire, tenacity, line-up of ideas.โ
Frontman James Hetfield added: โThe insanity that we do just to keep our own sanity, people identify with it and the fact that theyโre not alone and we know that weโre not alone is what makes it all happen for me.โ
Guitarist Kirk Hammett joked: โIโll just sit there and keep on playing for f*****g 24 hours if I need to!โ
The podcast is being billed as โVolume 1โ which may suggest there will be further volumes in the future looking at the bandโs other albums.
As yet, there is no news on the release date of the podcast but perhaps it will be around the 12 August, when The Black Album was originally released in 1991, or in September to coincide with the reissue.
