Comedian Russell Kane has launched his Summer Unlocked podcast series, together with his 69-year-old auntie Christine.
The series, commissioned by Dash Cam brand Nextbase, will look at what itโs really like to holiday across Britain and will see Russellโs beloved auntie Christine join him for a 25-minute tell-all show as a three-part series.
Highlights of the series include a seagull attack on auntie Christine, when her tooth came out on Christmas Day while eating her favourite chocolate and the time his auntie carried a bucket of wee to the shower block whilst camping.
Episode one delves into auntie Christineโs past as she admits to travelling in a sidecar with her ex-husband who she nicknames โBarstoolโฆโ and explores the issues around men being too stubborn to ask for directions.
Russell commented to auntie Christine about the sidecar and said: โLindsey swears you used to travel in a comedy sidecar with a crash helmet on when Barry (Christineโs husband) had a motorbike.
โItโs the least female empowering thing I can think of, is actually putting a woman in a carbon container at the side of a motorbike with her head popping out, like sheโs being delivered by Deliveroo or something! Anyone order a wife?โ
Each episode touches on all aspects of UK staycations from the stark realities of road rage, musical tastes and arguments to moments of madness and humour with arcades, seagulls and toilet breaks – all topics Brits can relate to!
Episode one is now available, with further episodes released 12 โ 26 August on Spotify and Youtube.
Nextbase has also launched a celebrity playlist with DJ and presenter Marvin Humes to keep families entertained to accompany the podcast, whilst driving to holiday destinations.
