The Lost Tapes of History, the podcast that presents history lessons with a touch of humour, features William II and the Confession in episode 2, which is available now.

In episode two, the date is July 1100. William has alienated himself from the Church, but his younger brother Henry feels that he should go to a priest. He should confess his sins ‘in case something happens to him’ otherwise he’ll die and go to hell.
A spokesperson for William II said: “I took him to the Church myself. I know he went in. What happens between a King and a priest is private. I know there was a lot of giggling though. She came out with a big grin on her face.”
