iNHouse Communications has opened public voting for the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by YouTube, in this year’s Political Podcast Awards.
The country’s leading political podcasters are once again competing for the public’s vote, with the People’s Choice ballot open for one month and closing at midnight on 9 January.
The winner of the 2026 People’s Choice Award will be announced on 28 January during the Political Podcast Awards ceremony in Westminster.
Nine further categories, judged independently, will also be revealed at the event, which will be hosted by broadcaster Gyles Brandreth and former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci.
These categories recognise the best newcomer, comedy moment, interview, original format, presenter, producer, rising star, story and student podcast of the past twelve months.
For the People’s Choice award, listeners can choose from the twenty-five podcasts shortlisted across the nine judged categories.
The full list includes many of the most familiar names in political podcasting and reflects a year of strong audience growth across the sector. The shortlist is available below and is also published on the Political Podcast Awards website and on X.
Chair of iNHouse Communications and Founder of the Political Podcast Awards, Katie Perrior said: “Every day increasing numbers of people are tuning in to political podcasts for their fix of Westminster news.
“The medium broke into the mainstream last year, and is now the soundtrack to our commutes and the go-to for political analysis and debate. Now is the time for listeners to show their appreciation for their favourite shows.
“With the independent judging process now well underway, we couldn’t be more excited to launch the most important award of all – the People’s Choice, chosen by podcast listeners themselves.
“Last year we were blown away by the thousands of people who came out to vote for their favourite podcast, so we’re anticipating a fiery contest as podcasters compete to win those votes again.”
Alison Lomax, UK Managing Director for YouTube, the sponsors of the awards, added: “We’re delighted to be returning once again to sponsor the People’s Choice at the Political Podcast Awards.
“Political podcasts are now more popular than ever and have become a central part of the news and current affairs agenda. As a leading podcast platform in the UK, we’ve seen the phenomenal growth in viewership.
“Last year, the People’s Choice was one of the most hotly contested of all the awards, so we can’t wait to see what each podcast will be crowned the winner in 2026.”
