Rhiannon Lambert to feature in new podcast Working In with Heights

Mental health and wellbeing podcast Working In with Heights, hosted by Dan Murray-Serter is to feature nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert in a new two-part episode.

The podcast is dedicated to helping listeners learn, optimise and maximise brain health through bitesize, digestible and actionable interviews with the world’s leading scientists and experts on the topic. Host Dan says: “Whilst working out is for your body, we think you also need to be working in to keep your brain mentally sharp.”

The two-part episode launching this Friday, 23 October and Sunday 25 October welcomes Rhiannon Lambert, known as ‘Rhitrition’ to her Instagram fans – registered nutritionist, founder of leading Harley Street clinic Rhitrition bestselling author of Re-Nourish: A Simple Way To Eat Well and host of Food For Thought podcast.

Rhiannon discusses the relationship between food and our mental health, why stress is so heavily intertwined with food and provides insight into how our upbringing and environment impacts our food choices.

In the vulnerable conversation, host Dan shares his experience of having an unhealthy relationship with food and the negative impact this had on his mental health, he says: “I’m someone who grew up overweight, which had a lot of profound impacts on my mental health, my confidence and my body image, to the point when I eventually started losing weight, people would comment by saying that I was skinny and I just wouldn’t see that.

“I continued to lose weight because I psychologically wasn’t able to understand what a healthy portion was, or how much I needed to eat. I went to a number of doctors and none were able to diagnose me with anything but a psychological problem.

“At the time there wasn’t really any form of social media and I think now the problem has become exponentially worse because platforms as such breed insecurity in people.”

Rhiannon goes on to explain that within today’s society as a man, it can be very difficult to talk about body issues: “It almost seems taboo for men to experience body image problems, or feelings. It’s almost as if men are seen to be void of feeling altogether – which makes the problem even worse. I think the introduction of social media has also made everything worse,” she says.

Working In with Heights podcast is available on Apple, Spotify and all major podcast platforms.
