Dax-Devlon Ross to host podcast on the false confession capital of America

Australian Clockwork Films and UK Chalk & Blade have teamed up with iHeartPodcasts for US true crime series.

Named Crying Wolf, the podcast will be hosted by award-winning journalist and author Dax-Devlon Ross, who was co-host on Sony’s The Burden, which has been nominated for an Ambie Award.

The 10-part series will investigate the false confession capital of America – Chicago, telling the story of both a harrowing murder investigation, a corrupt police department and a tale of friendship that rivals The Shawshank Redemption.

Ruth Barnes, Founder and Creative Director says: “At Chalk + Blade we revel in stories that poke at stigmatising themes and challenge the status quo, this project was a clear perfect match for us.”

Naomi Harvey, Executive Producer Clockwork Films adds: “It is fantastic to be partnering with Chalk and Blade and iHeart to tell a story I have been obsessed with for years.

“It’s not just the story of Lee Harris- a man who was wrongfully incarcerated for murder, it is also the story of the victim who never got justice, the unlikely and incredible friendships that were created and the legacy that Lee has left behind him.”

Crying Wolf is set for release later this year with iHeartPodcasts on all podcast platforms and Clockwork Films are in the early stages of developing it for scripted adaptation.
