Graham Norton and Maria McErlane reunite to launch new advice podcast

Graham Norton and Maria McErlane are back together with the launch of their debut original podcast, Wanging On.

They’re returning to their much-loved problem-solving roles to tackle listeners’ life dramas with honesty, laughter and decades of friendship.

The fully visualised podcast, released by Listen under Platform Media, brings the pair’s unique brand of advice and nonsense to everyday dilemmas, from workplace woes to romantic disasters, with no problem too big, small, or strange.

“It’s relaxed, it’s ridiculous, and it’s what Maria and I have always loved doing – chatting nonsense and digging into people’s drama,” said Norton. “Wanging On is unlike anything I’ve done before – instead of just talking at the audience, the podcast lets Maria and I have a real conversation with them.”

Launching today, 7 July, the first episode sees Graham and Maria tackle dilemmas including meeting a girlfriend’s nudist father, deciding whether to give saved money to grandchildren who might “spunk it”, and judging if a listener is weird for owning an extensive dog wardrobe.

The series also introduces ‘Am I Weird?’, where listeners share their quirks to be judged for shame or pride, alongside confessions of spying on exes, creating fake PA personas, and stealing souvenirs from one-night stands.

Norton makes a highly anticipated debut into original podcasts in over a year since leaving the airwaves. The pair first appeared together in 1996’s Carnal Knowledge before co-hosting on BBC Radio 2 for over a decade and later Virgin Radio, building a three-decade partnership.

New episodes of Wanging On will be released every Monday on YouTube, Spotify and other major podcast platforms.
