Jenny Eclair and Judith Holder bring festive podcast shows live

Award-winning comedian and novelist Jenny Eclair and producer and writer Judith Holder are returning to the London stage with a brand-new festive run of their hit podcast Older and Wider.

A series of live matinee performances will take place at the Leicester Square Theatre in the run up to Christmas, with shows on 29 November, 7 December, 14 December and 21 December at 4pm.

The duo made their live debut in July last year, selling out so quickly that extra dates were added. Back by popular demand, Jenny and Judith are promising their devoted OWLS (Older and Wider Listeners) a Christmas special filled with daring stunts, questionable dance routines and the kind of oversharing that has made their podcast a runaway success.

The Christmas shows will feature interactive games including Christmas Mishap Bingo, the annual podcast quiz, and plenty of unscripted gossip.

Organisers say audiences should expect laughter, festive silliness and spontaneous profanities. Jenny joked: “Judith put a gun to my head and forced me to agree to a short run of Xmas shows and to be honest, I can’t wait.”

Judith added: “Jenny continues to be a terrible influence on me, and any swearing or obscenity in the show is down to her.”

Older and Wider first launched in December 2018, and the pair have now recorded more than 300 episodes with over six million downloads.

The show has built a loyal audience by blending candid conversation with humour, tackling everyday subjects such as Judith’s handbag addiction, Jenny’s overcrowded fridge, and their competitive approach to grandmother duties. Popular features include Hypochondriacs Corner and Taste Sensation of the Week.

Together, Jenny and Judith bring decades of stage and television experience, having co-written the international comedy hit Grumpy Old Women. Their return to live podcasting is expected to draw fans from across the country for a festive afternoon of laughter and community.

Tickets for Older and Wider Live go on general sale at 10am on Friday 12 September via the Leicester Square Theatre website.
