Tink Media is marking International Podcast Day this year with a major expansion to its Substack newsletter, Podcast Marketing Magic.
A new premium feature will see Podcast Marketing Magic host a live, hands-on podcast marketing chat designed to give podcasters direct, practical support.
This chat will launch on 29 September, the eve of International Podcast Day, starting at 10am Eastern (3pm BST). The first 12 subscribers to join will gain free access, while premium subscribers can take part regularly.
To celebrate the launch and International Podcast Day on 30 September, the Tink Media team will host a Substack live stream from 10am to 12pm Eastern. The event will cover highlights of the new chat format, the team’s favourite podcasts of the year, key industry developments, and predictions for the highly anticipated Audio Delicacies recommendations.
Alongside the new interactive element, premium subscribers to Podcast Marketing Magic will continue to receive weekly prompts on Fridays, designed to connect marketing lessons to their own podcast strategies.
On Mondays, co-writers Shreya Sharma and Wil Williams will hold live “open hours” from 10am to 11am Eastern, answering subscriber questions, connecting podcasters, and sharing insights on current podcast news and trends.
These sessions are also intended as a platform for independent creators to showcase their work and share success stories.
“Tink is all about podcast friendships; connecting podcasters with each other,” said Tink Media CEO and Podcast Marketing Magic founder Lauren Passell. “We’re excited that this will not only give podcasters who don’t always have resources to work with us a way to learn what we know but also give them a chance to work with each other. That’s ultimately what we believe grows audiences.”
Podcast Marketing Magic writer and editor Wil Williams added: “As someone whose first career was in education, I cannot wait to help teach Podcast Marketing Magic readers everything we know about marketing.
“Having this direct, interactive approach means we can give such granular feedback to our participants that the broad, public PMM format just doesn’t allow.”
Shreya Sharma, also a writer and editor at Podcast Marketing Magic, said: “In the past, we’ve had readers reach out with great questions that we haven’t always been able to answer. Hopefully, this chat helps tackle some of those and help them grow their audiences.”
