FlightStory is making a significant seven-figure investment in Maggie Sellers Reum’s media and investing brand Hot Smart Rich.
The partnership, announced by FlightStory’s co-founders Steven Bartlett, Georgie Holt and Christiana Brenton, will build one of the most influential female-focused media brands of the next decade by expanding HSR across the US and aligned global markets.
The investment will also support tenfold growth in revenue and team size across content, marketing, commercial activity, product, e-commerce and community.
Hot Smart Rich is a direct and confident media platform that takes on the male-dominated world of business and entrepreneurship. It has passed one point eight million downloads and reached five hundred thousand listeners in less than a year.
Its themes around money, business, power and relationships have built a strong audience among women who want honest and practical conversations in a familiar, group-chat style.
A recent study showing that only seven per cent of business and entrepreneurship podcasts are hosted by women highlights the scale of the challenge.
Maggie says she wanted the show to feel like “a place to be vulnerable, learn, laugh, cry and most importantly have fun” and adds that she encourages women to “bring their whole, authentic self to whatever situation they’re in even if they haven’t founded a company to the level of Spanx, Canva or Bumble yet”.
HSR’s community of Angels include Los Angeles, New York, London, Toronto, Sydney and Paris. Engagement remains well above industry standards, with many members active or aspiring entrepreneurs who share knowledge to build personal and generational wealth through ownership.
Steven Bartlett said Maggie is “a trailblazer who has built an incredible platform and taken a completely fresh approach to the culture of business, entrepreneurship and wealth generation unlike anything I’ve seen before” and added that HSR is “disrupting an entire industry”.
Maggie said the partnership is “an investment into the future of women taking control of their businesses and lives” and believes applying the FlightStory blueprint that scaled The Diary Of A CEO will accelerate her mission.
