AlphaTheta launches Equal Beats podcast to empower women in music

Equal Beats is a new a seven-part podcast series designed to encourage women, femmes and non-binary people to explore careers in DJing and the wider music industry.

Hosted by DJ and broadcaster Kikelomo, the podcast forms part of AlphaTheta’s global Equal Beats initiative, created to drive gender and community parity across the music world.

Recorded in London by an all-female crew, the series will feature open conversations with DJs, managers, agents, and PR experts who share personal stories and practical advice on navigating the industry.

Each of the seven episodes will focus on a key topic, from breaking into the industry and building a brand to stage confidence, management, and balancing career and parenthood.

The first episode, Breaking into the Industry: Pathways for Aspiring Female DJs, features internationally recognised DJ Indira Paganotto.

The full guest lineup includes Georgia Taglietti, Lady Shaka, Maria May, Sama Abdulhadi, Annabel Stop It, and Cristina Lazic. Together, they’ll offer listeners accessible mentorship and insights into how the industry can evolve to become more inclusive.

The Equal Beats initiative first launched in February 2025 after AlphaTheta identified that only 13% of its account holders were female identifying.

Determined to address the imbalance, the company began running events, networking lunches, collaborations, and campaigns designed to break down barriers and encourage collaboration between female, femme, and non-binary communities in music.

Speaking about the new podcast, Isabel Sugrañes, Marketing Executive at AlphaTheta, said: “With Equal Beats, we wanted to make it easier for people to find their way into the music industry.

“So many aspiring women, femmes, and non-binary talents don’t know where to start, and hearing honest advice from established female voices can make all the difference.

“This podcast is about opening doors, sharing real experiences, inspiring others, and reminding people that there’s space for everyone in this industry.”

The first episode is available from today, 16 October 2025 on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and other major platforms. Subsequent episodes will be released fortnightly.
