Anna Wolfe launches new podcast on sex, love and sobriety

Journalist Anna Wolfe is bringing a new voice to podcasting with How To Get Wet When You’re Dry, a series exploring love, lust and relationships without alcohol.

Wolfe, who has written for Teen Vogue, Wired, New Scientist, The Independent and Stylist, is several years into her own recovery and says the podcast grew from a mix of curiosity and lived experience.

“I’ve always wondered when I’d publicly mess up my career and love life. It’s good to know it’s now,” she said.

Each episode sees Wolfe joined by leading voices from music, comedy, activism and beyond, tackling questions such as: how do you navigate dating without a social lubricant, is sober sex different, and how do you confront shame while building real intimacy?

Confirmed guests include Bob The Drag Queen, actress and comedian Margaret Cho, Gorillaz bassist Seye Adelekan, and Make Love Not Porn founder Cindy Gallop.

The tone is deliberately unfiltered, often funny, and unafraid to be vulnerable. Wolfe makes no claim to being an expert, instead offering listeners the kind of candid conversations that helped her in recovery.

“My own journey was shaped by hearing others speak honestly,” she explains. “This podcast is about paying that forward.”

In one episode, Wolfe and Margaret Cho discuss sobriety’s impact on relationships, emotional unavailability, and body image pressures. Another features Cindy Gallop reflecting on alcohol as a dating accessory, the male gaze in culture, and why communication is the secret ingredient to great sex.

Blending raw, intimate conversations with playful touches like film clips and off-the-cuff voice notes, How To Get Wet When You’re Dry aims to dismantle stigma around sobriety, sex, and self-image while making audiences laugh along the way.

Episodes will be available weekly on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and YouTube from today, 10 September.
