AudioUK has relaunched Audiotrain as a year-round training platform for the UK podcast and audio industry, in partnership with the BBC.
The platform, originally set up by AudioUK, is designed to raise standards across the sector by offering free on-demand training for audio professionals, content creators and newcomers to the industry.
Sessions are built around three key areas – Creative, Business and Technical – and each one is led by top industry experts who provide practical guidance that can be applied immediately to real projects.
The relaunch marks the beginning of a three-year programme of online and in-person training aimed at addressing skills gaps across the UK.
The first series of 19 webinars launches today, 25 September, with topics including crafting a narrative, starting a podcast business, negotiating, pitching, developing ideas, production management and YouTube for podcasts.
Chloe Straw, CEO of AudioUK, said: “The Audiotrain platform is a game-changer for the podcast and audio industry.
“Whether you’re just starting out or leading a business, it provides practical, high-quality training that empowers everyone to grow their skills, reach new audiences, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in podcasting and audio.
“We’re thrilled to offer a programme that truly supports talent at every stage of their journey, wherever or whenever that is.”
Dawn Beresford, Director of Talent & Skills at the BBC, added: “The BBC is delighted to have worked with AudioUK to relaunch Audiotrain, so that the breadth and depth of training available within the podcast and audio sector is enhanced and can be accessed by all, whenever and wherever they live within the UK.
“This is a core enabler of the BBC’s Across the UK strategy and we hope that it will be welcomed and used by many within the UK podcast and audio sector.”
Audiotrain courses are accessible to anyone working in the industry. More details and booking are available at audiotrain.co.uk.
