Rory Powers and Kit Grier Mulvenna, hosts of This Paranormal Life, are to tour the UK and US.
Following their sell-out debut tour last Summer, the Flat World Tour is coming in October. They’ll be bringing their award-winning cult comedy podcast to venues including New York’s Gramercy Theatre, London’s Hackney Empire and Belfast’s Limelight.
Since launching in 2017, the podcast has proved popular, with over 17 million listens, winning both a British Podcast Award and an Irish Podcast Award, and inspiring tattoos and fan art across the globe.
Each Tuesday, comedians and hosts Rory and Kit investigate a different paranormal case to try and find the truth inside the mystery.
They dig into weird and wild tales of ghouls and ghosts, curses and conspiracies, deploying questionable accents, evidence and tactics along the way.
Cases covered range from Roswell, the site of an alleged 1947 UFO crash, to The Battersea Poltergeist, as well as more obscure topics… Bigfoot’s Florida-based cousin, The Skunk Ape, and evil Furbies, to name a few.
In the live shows, the duo will tailor the stories they analyse accordingly, so each venue will experience a bespoke trip into the area’s very own paranormal past.
Kit says: “Our podcast was born in Hackney, where we recorded in our bedrooms for years, and have now graduated to a closet-sized studio. We’ve walked by Hackney Empire thousands of times, so it’s unbelievable to see our names on the poster next to some of the UK’s top comedians. It’ll be an extra special place to celebrate our first world tour with our listeners.”
Rory adds: “If you don’t know what to expect from a This Paranormal Life live show – GOOD. You know who else didn’t know what to expect? Frodo. And he ended up having a pretty fun time, aside from all the orcs and stuff.”
Patreon subscribers can buy pre-sale tickets from Wednesday 28 June, and general sale is available from Friday 30 June.
The US leg of the tour runs from Friday 6 October to Monday 16 October, and the UK leg from Sunday 22 October to Saturday 28 October.
