BBC’s Newscast is going live for 25 hours straight in a marathon podcast-a-thon to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
The non-stop broadcast began at 8am this morning and will continue until 9am tomorrow, Friday 14 November, streaming live on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.
The entire event is hosted by Newscast presenter Adam Fleming, who will be joined across the 25 hours by an all-star line-up of BBC talent.
Chris Mason, Laura Kuenssberg, Paddy O’Connell and Henry Zeffman, the regular Newscast team, will all take part, alongside a host of special guests from across BBC radio and podcasting.
There will be appearances from Uncanny creator Danny Robins, comedy writer and broadcaster Armando Iannucci, Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine, historian Greg Jenner and former newspaper editor David Yelland.
Special themed hours include sessions with the 5 Live Football Daily podcast, CBeebies Radio podcast, and a late-night segment of The Shipping Forecast with BBC Radio 4’s Viji Allis.
Throughout the marathon, BBC News correspondents will join Adam for “Around-the-clock-cast” updates from Europe, Asia, Australia and America.
The Newscast team will also make appearances on radio and television during the event as part of the wider Children in Need celebrations.
