Channel 4 News is launching TrumpWorld, a new video podcast presented by Anushka Asthana and Matt Frei, one week before Donald Trump’s second state visit to the UK.
Billed as a transatlantic deep dive into one of the most turbulent political eras in modern history, TrumpWorld will go behind the daily headlines.
Each episode will explore America’s polarised political landscape and a new world order that is reshaping in real time.
Matt Frei will report from global frontlines, while Anushka Asthana, Channel 4 News’ new US Editor, will bring insights direct from Washington. Together, they will analyse not only what Donald Trump wants people to talk about but also what he wants to avoid.
The series combines sharp headline analysis with heavyweight interviews and audience questions from both sides of the Atlantic.
The podcast marks Channel 4 News’ latest move in its video-first strategy, with YouTube now firmly established as the UK’s second most-watched news platform. The newsroom’s digital growth has been significant, with nearly four million subscribers and 1.8 billion annual views on the platform.
TrumpWorld is designed to build on that success and expand the programme’s reach among younger and international audiences seeking trusted, long-form journalism.
