CBeebies Parenting has launched series three of its hit podcast CBeebies Parenting Helpline, with Charlie Hedges.
The BBC Radio 1 presenter steps in this season as Holly Hagan-Blyth takes time away with her family. Across eight new episodes Charlie explores some of the most relatable, emotional, and challenging topics facing parents today.
Each episode brings together a wide range of expert voices, including clinical psychologist Dr Martha, Little Happy Learners founder Sophie David, and psychosexual therapist Kate Moyle, who help guide listeners through situations many families encounter but often struggle to talk about openly.
Real listener questions form the heart of the series, with submissions tackling issues such as rebuilding confidence after a C-section, reconnecting with a partner after becoming parents, and addressing worrying influences on a young child.
The show places these personal concerns front and centre, pairing them with advice to help parents who often feel uncertain, overwhelmed, or isolated.
In one of the most intimate episodes of the season, Charlie invites her dad to join her for a reflective conversation about their own family’s experiences, acknowledging the role her parents have played throughout her parenting journey.
With support from psychotherapist Philippa Perry, they answer listeners’ questions, including one from a grandfather seeking guidance on how much support he should continue to offer when his son is an absent father, offering a thoughtful look at the complexities of multigenerational parenting.
A brand-new feature, celebrity parenting dilemmas, is introduced for the new season. Well-known names including Jon Bon Jovi, Louise Pentland, Hollie McNish, Charlotte Dawson and others submit real-life questions highlighting that parenting challenges truly affect everyone regardless of background, status, or experience.
Across the series there will be a mix of conversations about mental health and relationships, alongside practical takeaways covering at-home activities, toddler behaviour, and developmental skills.
Charlie Hedges says: “I’m incredibly proud of this new series of Parenting Helpline and can’t wait for people to hear it.
“Holly is taking some much-needed time to grieve and be with her family. I’ve missed recording with her, but I’m honoured to help carry the podcast forward this season and look forward to her returning for the next series.
“Every episode is packed with genuine questions, expert insight, and the kind of conversations all parents can see themselves in. I can’t wait for listeners to hear what we’ve created.”
The new series of CBeebies Parenting Helpline is available weekly on BBC Sounds and all other podcast platforms from today, 27 November, with a visualised version available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
