The popular children’s podcast Dad’s Bedtime Stories for Kids has joined the Mercury network.
The show has over 400 episodes with a strong monthly audience across North America and the UK.
Host Martin Gage is a Vice Principal and father, who turned his improvised bedtime stories into a podcast.
Episodes are released each Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, with the story often inspired by listener suggestions.
Mercury’s founder Liam Heffernan says: “The idea of user-generated content for kids, by kids is so unique, and the ad-libbed format makes it relatable, natural, and one of the best children’s podcasts in the world.
“Martin is also just a great person who created this podcast because, as a parent himself, he knew it was needed. This is exactly the kind of show Mercury was made for, and I’m so excited for what lies ahead.”
Dad’s Bedtime Stories host Martin Gage adds: “When I started, I figured 1000 downloads per episode was probably a good goal for monetization, but it turns out that very few sponsors want to talk to you at that level. Without the time to work on finding sponsors of my own. That is why I decided to go with Mercury.
“When independent podcasters join together, we are a much more attractive target for those larger sponsors, and I just want to make my show without thinking about all that.”
