Daily Mail launches The Crime Desk for true crime fans

Daily Mail has launched The Crime Desk, a new global hub dedicated to the brand’s growing portfolio of true crime storytelling across audio, video and digital platforms.

Expanding on its launch in March, it now brings together its award-winning podcasts, YouTube channels, TikTok content, written features and a new weekly newsletter. The Crime Desk is designed as the ultimate destination for audiences who can’t get enough of gripping real-life investigations.

Launching today, 27 October, the new network showcases the Daily Mail’s signature mix of investigative journalism and storytelling, under one unified brand.

The accompanying newsletter will launch on 29 October, featuring exclusive interviews, expert analysis and deep-dive investigations.

Ted Verity, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Mail, described the move as “where journalism meets justice”, saying: “The Crime Desk is a bold new network combining the rigour of investigative reporting with the intimacy of the voices behind the cases that captivate the world.

“From high-profile trials to long-forgotten cold cases, it delivers immersive experiences to readers, viewers and listeners from the front lines of crime reporting.”

Katie Davies, Daily Mail US Editor-in-Chief, added: “The Crime Desk brings together everything that makes Daily Mail journalism stand out – fearless reporting, gripping storytelling and an unflinching look at the cases that capture the world’s attention.

“From podcasts to investigations, this new hub gives our audiences a single home for the true crime stories they can’t stop reading, watching or listening to.”

With over two million monthly global podcast downloads across The Trial, The Trial USA and The Trial Australia Edition, 1.3 million TikTok followers and nearly 200,000 YouTube subscribers, the Daily Mail’s reach in true crime is already significant around the world.
