Frank Skinner Poetry Podcast returns for fourth series

Comedian and Absolute Radio presenter Frank Skinner is back with the fourth series of his ever popular and critically acclaimed Poetry Podcast.

Now launched and running for eight episodes, Frank takes listeners on a journey of poetry discovery as he takes an honest, amusing and insightful look at a new selection of his favourite pieces of poetry.

Each week Frank will continue to surprise his listeners with his choice of poetry which in the past has included writers like William Wordsworth, Rita Dove, Robert Frost, Cathy Park Hong and his lockdown discovery Ella Frears. This season kicks off with Temporary Vows and I Am Not a Falconer by Caroline Bird and John Milton’s epic poem in blank verse Paradise Lost.

Frank said “A shabbily-dressed comedian sits in an attic, hunched over a microphone, reading stuff aloud that makes him punch the air with joyous exhilaration. You must be at least curious.”

As a poetry enthusiast Frank’s infectious love for the art form shines through, as he looks at the poem line by line, taking time to offer insightful analysis as well as his own personal experience to the pieces. Coupled with his wry wit and funny observations this podcast should have listeners returning again and again.

The first episode of Frank Skinner’s Poetry Podcast is available now with a new episodes released each Wednesday on Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and all mainstream podcast providers.
