Comedian Harriet Kemsley has returned for a second series of her dating podcast Single Ladies in Your Area, bringing more comedic takes on the challenges of modern romance.
Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show, Kemsley joked about how the podcast flips the traditional dating advice format on its head.
She explained that she and her co-host started the show after both found themselves single following long relationships, with neither having tried dating apps before.
Rather than offering expert tips or polished strategies, the pair take a light-hearted approach to their lack of dating success. “A lot of dating podcasts are like experts, and with us, we only got one date between us in series one,” Kemsley said, laughing.
Co-host Dominic Byrne teased that they had “monetised it and made a success of it,” while Moyles joked about podcasters taking over from traditional radio shows by turning casual chats into hit series. Kemsley replied with a smile, “Yeah, no, sorry about that. It’s really fun… it’s quite pathetic, though.”
The second series continues to follow their dating journeys, with the duo sharing stories, awkward encounters, and reflections on navigating love in the age of apps.
Despite concerns from friends that they might quickly end up in relationships, Kemsley says the show’s premise is safe for now. “We’re well into the second series, and it turns out the show can run and run,” she quipped.
