Harry Corin launches Question The Default podcast in support of CALM

Mental health ambassador Harry Corin has launched a new podcast series in partnership with the suicide prevention charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).

Question The Default is a thought-provoking series challenging the assumptions that shape how we think, feel, and talk about life’s toughest subjects.

Each episode dares to ask the questions too often left unspoken, tackling issues such as mental health, masculinity, addiction, and even the impact of AI on wellbeing.

Guests from across sport, politics, entertainment, and academia join Corin for challenging conversations designed to inspire connection and cultural change.

Harry’s mission is deeply personal. He lost his father to suicide when he was 12 and says that years of silence taught him how powerful open conversations can be.

“We can’t create change if we keep thinking the same way,” he explains. “Question The Default is about challenging the norms we’ve absorbed that keep us stuck and having honest conversations about what it really takes to make progress.”

CALM CEO Simon Gunning praised the partnership, saying: “Our mission has always been to get more people talking, because we know that conversations save lives. Harry’s experience, compassion and commitment make him the perfect person to lead these important discussions.”

The first episode features Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes, who reflects on fame, loss, and the lessons learned through therapy and self-reflection.

In the episode, Hughes opens up about the mental strain of sudden fame, his brother’s cancer diagnosis, and how crying has become a vital part of his emotional wellbeing.

“If something has affected me, a good cry makes me feel unbelievable,” he says. “It’s a real part of my therapy.”

Hughes also reveals how a message from Liam Payne helped him through a difficult period and speaks movingly about finding peace in vulnerability and new love. His story, like many to come in the series, offers a raw and hopeful reminder that strength often begins with openness.

Future guests include Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas, former Chancellor Sir Sajid Javid, TV personalities Amber Gill and Danni Menzies, broadcaster Harpz Kaur, rapper Hyphen, CALM CEO Simon Gunning, and former Downing Street strategist Alastair Campbell.

Question The Default is available now on Apple Podcasts and all major platforms, with new episodes released weekly.
