Herman Narula launches podcast on tech shaping culture and future

Herman Narula, CEO of Improbable and founder of blockchain platform Somnia, has launched Herman’s Podcast.

The new series explores the people and ideas driving the biggest shift in how we live, work, and create.

Episode one features NBA champion, entrepreneur, and Web3 advocate Tristan Thompson, in a discussion spanning AI, blockchain, Web3, crypto, and their collision with sports, culture, and the global economy.

Future episodes will feature builders, decision makers, and innovators working at the point where technology meets real life, with conversations designed to inspire action and unlock new perspectives.

Narula is best known for pioneering large-scale virtual worlds through Improbable, with applications in gaming, defence, culture, and entertainment.

Over his career, he has raised more than $700 million and authored Virtual Society, a book on the post-humanist future. His latest venture into podcasting builds on his expertise, bringing complex technologies into context for everyday life.

Speaking about the launch, Narula said: “It’s more Black Mirror than blockchain podcast; not just about the tech, but about how it’s already rewriting how we live, work, and connect.

“I believe we’re living through a cultural singularity where AI, crypto, and the metaverse converge. This podcast moves past the same old conversations and into the ideas and people building what’s next.”

Thompson, who is using AI and blockchain to empower young athletes with tools for performance insights, financial literacy, and brand ownership, said: “It’s not just theory, it’s about what’s actually happening right now.

“Web3, AI, and the metaverse aren’t buzzwords for me, they’re tools that give young athletes and fans a stake in what they’re building. It’s about turning access into opportunity, and opportunity into legacy.”

Herman’s Podcast is now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, and YouTube.
