History Hit and Little Dot reveal February streaming podcast highlights

History Hit has confirmed a busy February slate across streaming, podcasts and YouTube.

There are new documentaries, series and episodes featuring Dan Snow, Suzannah Lipscomb and Tristan Hughes, alongside selected releases from Little Dot Studios’ YouTube channels.

On the History Hit streaming service, Mary-Ann Ochota continues Ancient Ways: The Ridgeway with the second episode landing on 12 February. It follows her journey along Britain’s oldest road to West Kennet Long Barrow, Silbury Hill and Avebury Henge, where she meets archaeologist and Time Team regular Phil Harding.

Dan Snow fronts Beijing: The Central Axis on 19 February, travelling through China’s capital to explore sites including the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, uncovering how the city’s famous central axis shaped its history and meaning.

On 26 February, historian Tristan Hughes examines the Dead Sea Scrolls, analysing their texts and materials to assess their importance for early Judaism and the development of biblical scripture.

Also on streaming, the second episode of Katherine Howard – Vixen or Victim? arrives on 5 February, with Professor Suzannah Lipscomb re-examining the rise and downfall of Henry VIII’s fifth wife, challenging centuries of myth and focusing on the political dangers faced by a young queen.

History Hit podcasts also deliver a packed February schedule. Dan Snow’s History Hit releases The First Vikings in Iceland on 16 February, followed by The Sex Life of Charles II on 26 February, a crossover with Betwixt the Sheets available to watch on YouTube.

The Ancients runs a four-part Alexander the Great series every Thursday throughout the month, while Not Just the Tudors launches The Restoration of the Monarchy across February and into early March.

American History Hit explores America’s Darkest Hour in a four-part series examining defining moments of national crisis, while Betwixt the Sheets marks February with History’s Worst Break-Ups.

After Dark rounds out the month on 5 February with Dark Side of the Brontes, timed to the release of a new Wuthering Heights film.

Little Dot’s Timeline YouTube channel adds A City at War and a three-part series, Maya: Ancient Metropolis.
