James Barr launches new video podcast exploring hidden personal truths

James Barr is launching a new video podcast, What If People Find Out?, focused on honesty and self-acceptance.

The multi award winning podcaster, broadcaster and comedian has teamed up with therapist Kalvin Ryder and podcast company W!ZARD Studios to create the series.

Barr is known for co-hosting A Gay And A NonGay and as a co-host the Hits Radio Breakfast Show, while Ryder previously worked in music before training as a GSRD therapist supporting gender, sexual and relationship diversity.

The new series explores the personal stories people often feel unable to share, with guests discussing hidden parts of their identity, past experiences or private struggles in open and reflective conversations.

Each episode combines humour with discussion, encouraging listeners and viewers to reflect on their own lives while embracing authenticity and individuality in a supportive and entertaining environment.

The launch episode features American TV personality Countess Luann, best known for her appearances on The Real Housewives of New York City.

Early episodes will also feature a wide range of high-profile names from music, television and wellbeing, including platinum selling recording artist and presenter Fleur East and musician and composer Emma Jean Thackray.

Other confirmed guests include Finnish singer songwriter and Eurovision star Saara Aalto, therapy figure Lady Diana Whitmore, and TV favourite John Whaite, who won The Great British Bake Off and appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

The podcast centres around the idea of removing shame and allowing people to speak openly about identity, personal growth and experiences that are often hidden behind public success or carefully managed reputations.

Barr and Ryder hope the series will resonate with audiences navigating their own journeys of confidence and acceptance, while also providing entertainment through lively and emotionally honest conversations with well-known figures.

New episodes will be published every Monday from today, 9 February, across major podcast platforms, alongside full video versions available on YouTube and Spotify.
