Manchester Airport podcast returns with new series exploring T2 expansion

Manchester Airport has launched the fourth series of its official podcast, Manchester: Your Airport, MAN.

The latest series gives listeners an insider’s look at new routes, behind-the-scenes operations and the final stages of its £1.3 billion Terminal 2 transformation.

Following more than 10,000 listeners who’ve listened since the podcast’s debut in 2023, this season opens with a special episode taking fans backstage at IndiGo’s new direct service between Manchester and Mumbai, which began earlier this summer.

Across six episodes, the podcast explores some of the airport’s biggest developments, including an exclusive first look at the completed T2 expansion, a Q&A with senior airport leaders about its busiest summer to date, and travel advice for those heading to popular leisure destinations from the North West.

The series is hosted by Hywel Evans, joined by the airport’s Communications Director, Adam Jupp. Hywel is a familiar voice to many early-morning travellers, having spent more than a decade hosting shows on Key 103, Rock FM, XS Manchester and BBC Radio 6 Music before moving into podcasting.

He’s also an award-winning comedy podcast writer, known for The Adventures of Brian Hovis, and says joining the airport’s podcast team has been a perfect fit.

“I love audio entertainment and I love travel,” Hywel said. “Being ‘backstage’ at the airport is truly fascinating. My mind is blown by the secret workings, from stats to tunnels, buildings, security and coffee.”

Adam added: “The great thing about this podcast is that we can take you into parts of the airport that you wouldn’t see as a passenger and bring those stories to life. This series really gives you a sense of the scale of the airport and how many moving parts come together to get you on your way.”

Produced by Manchester-based Crowd Network, the new series launches today on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music, with new episodes released weekly.
