Marverine Cole launches midlife and menopause podcast series

Women over 40 are being given a new platform to share their midlife and menopause experiences in a six-part podcast hosted by Marverine Cole.

Award-winning journalist, TV presenter and clarity coach Marverine has launched Midlife, Messy and Marvellous, a series focused on conversations with women navigating midlife and menopause.

The podcast features guests from diverse backgrounds whose voices are rarely heard in discussions around this stage of life.

Marverine says she wants to create motivational and relatable conversations, while recognising the challenges many women face.

With more than 23 years’ experience in national and international TV news, Marverine currently works as a breakfast TV newsreader, senior lecturer in journalism and certified life coach. She is also a beer sommelier.

She said: “Hitting perimenopause a few years ago blindsided me. It came on top of coming terms with hurtling towards 50 and reconciling the dreams and ambitions I hadn’t yet achieved with making new ones. And chatting to my Gen X girlfriends, I realised I wasn’t alone.”

She added: “I hope this podcast helps us all realise that even the most fabulous & fiercest women across a range of professions are not immune those feelings. And I hope that we can all draw inspiration from the practical and personal advice shared by my guests about how they navigate midlife and menopause with confidence and resilience.”

The first episode features ITV Loose Women panellist and West End star of Paddington, Brenda Edwards, who discusses early menopause following a stage three breast cancer diagnosis and the grief of losing her son, Jamal Edwards MBE.

Other guests in the series include Sky News broadcaster Gillian Joseph, NHS GP and author Dr Ellie Cannon, former Apprentice candidate and skincare brand CEO Saira Khan, actress and ITV presenter Chizzy Akudolu, and singer-songwriter Beverley Knight.

Midlife, Messy and Marvellous is available on YouTube and major podcast platforms.
