Michelle Wolf expands podcast Thought Box to live streaming

Comedian and writer Michelle Wolf is adding a live streaming extension to her new podcast Thought Box.

The live version of the podcast officially launches on 27 February at 6pm at La Laietana Cultural opening itself up to a live audience for the very first time, whilst also live streaming exclusively on the Punch Up platform.

Shortly after, the video will be available to watch on demand exclusively on Punch Up and the audio will be made available for download on all major podcast services.

As someone who never liked podcasts, Michelle keeps Thought Box as close to standup as possible, recording the podcast in front of a live audience so she can perform both topical and non-topical jokes she’s written every week.

In this expansion, audiences are now also able to live stream the podcast, so they can watch the jokes succeed or fail from anywhere in the world.

Michelle Wolf said: “My main goal with this podcast is to bring something fresh and unique to the table – there’s literally no one doing it this way.

“We’re recording in front of a live audience and streaming it, giving people the chance to watch the show live or catch the stream after.

“I was always hesitant about doing a podcast because I just wanted to focus on stand-up, but I realised if I was going to give it a go, I wanted to keep it as close to stand-up as possible. So, every week, I’m writing topical jokes, jokes about things that happened to me, and even jokes based on suggestions from listeners.

“Although it’s a podcast, the aim is for it to feel like you’re attending a brand-new stand-up show every single week. And yes, that means I’m writing a lot of jokes—because I’m committed to making it as fresh and funny as possible.”
