Netflix and Spotify enter video podcast partnership from early 2026

Netflix and Spotify have joined forces to bring a curated selection of video podcasts to Netflix viewers.

The partnership will feature shows from Spotify Studios and The Ringer, covering sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime, complementing Netflix’s existing programming while offering podcasts to new audiences.

Video podcasts have surged in popularity, with a Cumulus Media study finding 72 percent of listeners prefer shows with video. The deal reflects this trend and marks a wider effort to expand distribution for top audio-visual content.

“At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members,” said Lauren Smith, VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy at Netflix. “With video podcasts on the rise, our partnership with Spotify ensures we bring the full video versions of these top shows to Netflix. This curated selection adds fresh voices and new perspectives, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”

Roman Wasenmüller, VP and Head of Podcasts at Spotify, added: “This partnership marks a new chapter for podcasting. Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences, and giving fans the chance to experience the stories they love while uncovering new favourites.”

The initial selection includes popular sports podcasts such as The Bill Simmons Podcast and The Ringer NFL Show, lifestyle and culture shows like The Rewatchables and The Dave Chang Show, and true crime series including Conspiracy Theories and Serial Killers.

The video podcasts will be available on Netflix in the US in early 2026, with other markets to follow, and more titles will be added over time as the partnership develops.
