New podcasts and mixes from across BBC radio stations are to become available on BBC Sounds.
Grammy award-winning rapper Eve will present her first podcast Constantly Evolving, where she asks guests about life lessons and what got them to where they are. She’ll be talking with the likes of Henry Holland, Olivia Breen, Paloma Faith and Swizz Beatz.
Eve says: “I’m so excited to be joining the BBC for my first podcast, talking to some incredible people from all walks of life and learning along the way with the listeners!”
In The YUNGBLUD Podcast, which launches today (22 October), the singer-songwriter meets young people at a turning point in their life. Each week he’ll talk to one fan about topics such as gender, identity, money worries, friendships, style or mental health.
Also starting today is The Rap Game UK Podcast. Lady Ice and Remi Burgz go behind the scenes of BBC Three’s The Rap Game UK, meeting UK rap legends DJ Target and Krept and Konan to “dissect every clash”. They’ll speak to all the unsigned MCs as they go head to head to win a record label contract.
Cillian Murphy’s Limited Edition is a twelve-part series of two-hour programmes where the actor and music fan curates a playlist from his own extensive record collection. The podcast will be available on BBC Sounds before its broadcast on BBC Radio 6 Music on Mondays, midnight-2am.
6 Music’s Artist In Residence launches on BBC Sounds next month with six episodes from hip-hop artist Loyle Carner, plus future episodes next year from Arlo Parks and Phoebe Bridgers.
Radio 1’s Movie Mixtapes with film guru Ali Plumb will feature a range of curated mixes of iconic movie songs such as Halloween, Heists, Marvel, Emma Stone and Tom Cruise soundtracks.
Ali Plumb says: “Radio 1’s Movie Mixtapes are back! As you may well have guessed, I’m a huge film nerd and this is my dream job: digging through the best film soundtracks to unearth amazing songs from amazing movies.
“I’ve created twelve mixes to keep you entertained throughout the winter months, with each mixtape having its own theme: Halloween, Musicals, Heists and much more.”
