New podcast explores what therapists really think about mental health

A new podcast promising to reveal what therapists are really thinking about the issues people struggle to discuss.

What Your Therapist Thinks is hosted by Kristie Plantinga, founder of BestTherapists.com, alongside Felicia Keller Boyle, a licensed somatic therapist, who together bring a mix of expertise and openness to each episode.

The series aims to connect clinical knowledge with public curiosity, offering discussions that tackle today’s most debated mental health topics.

Each week, the hosts and their guests will break down real-life stories, anonymous Reddit posts, and listener questions, providing both validation and practical tools for navigating personal challenges.

A central theme of the podcast is clearing up confusion around popular psychological buzzwords that dominate social media conversations.

Terms such as “gaslighting” and “narcissism” are often misused online, and the show’s therapists plan to set the record straight by explaining them in clear, accessible language.

“The internet loves throwing around clinical terms, but most of the time, people are getting it wrong,” says host Kristie Plantinga. “Our goal is to create a show where people can get clear answers and genuinely helpful tools, proving that conversations about mental health can be both educational and entertaining.”

Co-host Felicia Keller Boyle adds: “We’re touching on the stuff you think about bringing up in therapy… but maybe don’t. It’s a space for real chats with real therapists. We might not be your therapists, but we know some really good ones.”

Season one will run weekly through the autumn, with episodes covering a wide range of topics including emotional numbness, trauma, self-worth and healing.

Produced by PodVision, the series is supported by BestTherapists.com, a directory that helps people find vetted professionals so they can focus on fit rather than quality.

Launching on 10 September, episodes will be available on all major podcast platforms, with full video versions streaming on the What Your Therapist Thinks YouTube channel.
