Out Of Frame is a new podcast hosted by award-winning documentary maker and radio DJ, Yinka Bokinni.
The series spotlights the unseen roles behind every blockbuster movie, revealing their impact and making the film industry more accessible.
Behind every major film launch, thousands of crew members work across hundreds of roles to make every moment – and every detail – unforgettable.
Out of Frame hears the stories and careers of these industry insiders. From costume designers and SFX supervisors, to sound technicians, intimacy co-ordinators and more, the series hears never heard before stories behind the creation of hit movies including Mission Impossible, Legend and The Substance.
By featuring specialists who worked in often-overlooked roles on blockbuster hits like Wonder Woman and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the podcast aims to inspire younger generations by highlighting careers once thought unimaginable.
Featuring below-the-line crew from Wicked, Sherlock Holmes and The Man Who Knew Infinity and top-tier crew members talking through their careers, the series breaks down what each role actually does, how different roles interact on set, what the first day on set is really like, and even exclusive, behind-the-scenes stories from some big films and TV shows.
Out of Frame is produced by Listen for CrewHQ and Warner Bros. Discovery. The podcast is just one part of CrewHQs mission to support existing crew, create career pathways and foster the next generation of below-the-line film crew.
Broadcaster, journalist, cultural commentator and host of the podcast, Yinka Bokinni says: “Working in the creative industry I know the real magic happens behind the scenes.
“There are so many talented people whose work we see but rarely hear about so I’m honoured to be sharing their stories.
“Whether you’re interested in a career in film, or just loved Wicked, Out of Frame is well worth a listen.”
Each episode will hear a different perspective on what it takes to bring a blockbuster movie to life, and more importantly, how to get into that role.
Out of Frame is available on all podcast listening platforms from today, 2nd April.
