Pine Forest Media is launching a new podcast called Oceanography to spotlight the latest research and conservation efforts to protect the world’s oceans.
The weekly podcast will feature conversations with marine biologists, oceanographers and climate scientists discussing everything from global treaties to local grassroots action.
Oceanography is hosted by Clark Marchese, a science communicator and podcast producer with a background in environmental studies, international politics and media, who combines rigorous journalism with compelling storytelling.
Marchese says: “There are a lot of threats facing our oceans. But this podcast isn’t about problems. Oceanography sets out to engage with the scientists working to meet these challenges, to explore the wonders beneath the surface worth protecting, and to understand why healthy oceans matter – not just for marine life, but for all of us too.”
Upcoming episodes will explore how whales communicate underwater, fishing gear designed to protect endangered species, the magic of bio-luminescent sharks and deep-sea ecosystems.
Guests will include the Deputy Global Coordinator of the UN Decade for Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the climate specialist and tribal liaison at the Marine Protected Area Collaborative Network in California.
Oceanography from Pine Forest Media will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major podcast platforms from 29 July.
