New podcasts that will bring TV drama to BBC Sounds

Some of the best BBC dramas are going to have companion podcasts, with the return of the popular Obsessed With… podcast and a range of podcasts will become tv shows on BBC Three.

Popular TV dramas, Killing Eve and Peaky Blinders will be accompanied by the return of Obsessed With… as both series reach their final ever episodes.

Obsessed With… Killing Eve returns with hosts Zing Tsjeng and Naomi Shimada, where they dissect the themes, plot twists and crucially, the fashion of Villanelle and Eve.

Peakys superfans, comedians and best mates Lloyd Griffith and Darren Harriot will be catching up after each episode of Peaky Blinders to relive every bust-up, back-stab and shoot-out from the drama on TV. They will also be looking back at every series and counting down the most iconic and dramatic moments in the show’s nine-year run.

In addition to this, BBC Sounds and BBC Three are joining forces to make some of these podcasts available to watch.

Broadcasting on BBC Three from March will be Obsessed With… Killing Eve, allowing people to probe and reflect on each episode with Naomi and Zing throughout the final series. Each instalment covers topics from Villanelle’s wardrobe to how the show has captivated fans through complex relationships and adverse themes.

Fans of Peaky Blinders will be able to see the Obsessed With… Peaky Blinders podcast hosts in action as the final episode of the series will also be visualised on BBC Three, directly after the Peaky Blinders finale.

The BBC says that making some of its TV companion titles available on BBC Three will provide people another way to discover and enjoy its podcasters, giving them the opportunity to watch or listen so that they can choose how they dive into the world of the shows they love.

The music tab on BBC Sounds will also allow listeners discover soundtracks inspired by some of this year’s most anticipated TV shows including Peaky Blinders, Gassed Up, Chloe, Mood, Drag Race UK’s Ru Paul Lip Sync Mix and more.

Commissioning Executive, Louise Kattenhorn says: “I’m so excited about the return of our Obsessed With… podcasts on BBC Sounds, as both Peaky Blinders and Killing Eve reach their final series.

“Fans get an opportunity to geek out as the episodes unfold each week and dissect the motivations of their most loved characters.

“It’s a fantastic way for people to get the most out of their favourite shows and hear from actors and creatives on all the insider revelations by taking a closer look at the twists and turns of the plot. It’s fantastic that audiences can now also choose to watch our brilliant podcasters on BBC Three – our hosts love to dress up and take style from their favourite characters so expect some fabulous and stylish outfits too!”

The first of these will be Obsessed With… Killing Eve on BBC Three from 7 March. The podcast will be available to listen to weekly on BBC Sounds from 28 February.
