The British Podcast Awards are officially back for the ninth year as entries are now open.
After two years at HERE at The Outernet, the 2025 event is moving to a brand-new venue: indigo at The O2 on Thursday, 2 October 2025.
This new venue offers more space to accommodate a growing podcasting community, allowing more people to come together in celebration of the UK’s thriving podcast scene.
There’s an expanded list of categories, including the prestigious Listeners’ Choice Award, which last year saw over 220,000 public votes cast.
This year, the Awards are evolving to reflect the ever-growing diversity of the podcasting landscape with the introduction of three new categories:
- Video Innovation – Celebrating outstanding visual podcasting, including editing, production, and audience engagement in video format
- Education – Honouring podcasts that inform, teach, and inspire learning
- Lifestyle – Recognising the best in beauty, fashion, hobbies, travel, and more
Once entries close on 15 May, over 200 independent judges will listen and – for the first time – watch the entries. If you’re interested in getting involved in judging can self-nominate via THIS link.
The awards will continue to discount fees for freelancers, charities and small production companies, which make up the majority of the sector.
The British Podcast Awards continues to partner with the Podcasting Seriously Fund who provide entry fee support from independent BIPOC, Queer and/or Trans audio producers.
