Phil Griffin launches Press Record podcast with Extended Play

Extended Play Limited has entered a new joint venture with acclaimed director and creative Phil Griffin to co-produce, a long-form podcast and filmed interview series.

Press Record with Phil Griffin will explore the human stories behind some of the world’s most recognisable musical talents.

Known for his striking portraits of artists such as Amy Winehouse, Adele and Prince, Griffin brings his eye for emotional truth to the podcast.

Across the series, he speaks to both legendary names and rising stars, creating a space for artists to share reflections on creativity, fame, identity and survival, often revealing moments they have never spoken about before.

The guest list for season one features a mix of cultural icons and emerging talent, including Craig David, Celeste, Maverick Sabre, Dannii Minogue, Rachel Chinouriri, Jacob Lusk, Will Goodge, Ben Alldis and Leanne Hainsby-Alldis.

With over 15 interviews already recorded, the launch is on 18 August across audio and video platforms, opening with a special two-part deep dive into Griffin’s long-time friend and collaborator Craig David.

Under the joint venture, Extended Play will provide production resources, editorial input and strategic development to bring the series to a global audience.

“At Extended Play, we’re driven by projects that offer emotional depth, cultural impact and creative integrity,” said Tom Birkett, COO of Extended Play. “Press Record is all of those things and more. Phil has created something profoundly human and moving – we’re honoured to partner with him and help bring these conversations to a global audience.”

Phil Griffin added: “The artists I speak to are often sharing things they’ve never said before – not because they’re being interviewed, but because they’re being heard.

“Partnering with Extended Play means we can now do this properly with the kind of care and vision the stories deserve.”

Production will take place at Extended Play’s Soho studio and on location. The project marks an expansion for the company into original podcast and audio-visual formats, building on its history of cross-platform storytelling in music, media and culture.

Press Record is available on YouTubeSpotify and Apple.
