Podcast Discovery appoints Hannah Southern to lead commercial strategy

Podcast marketing agency Podcast Discovery has appointed Hannah Southern to lead its commercial development in growing the company and expanding its roster of clients.

Hannah has previously worked as a Content Strategist at Message Heard and more recently as Head of Audience Development at Lower Street, where she developed strategies to help podcasts build loyal audiences.

At Podcast Discovery she will focus on devising creative solutions to support shows in growing their reach and connecting with listeners.

The agency provides PR, podcast outreach, social, video, events and advertising services. Its clients include Sky News, Crooked Media, The Economist, the Financial Times, BAFTA, All3Media, Crowd Network, Jampot and Mail Metro Media.

It also operates Podcast Rex, a consumer-facing brand that publishes the Great British Podcast newsletter, runs podcastrex.com and produces social and video content for listeners.

Hannah Southern said: “I’ve followed Podcast Discovery’s work for a long time, so I’m delighted that their next phase of growth includes me.

“The industry is evolving rapidly, and there’s a real opportunity for shows to cut through the noise with creative out-of-the-box growth strategies.

“I’m excited to work with a diverse list of clients, from talent-led, branded and independent shows, and help them achieve their goals and grow meaningful relationships with their listeners.”

Podcast Discovery co-founders Matt Hill and Matt Deegan added: “Podcasting has never been so competitive. Launching and keeping a show successful requires a great product, but also an integrated marketing strategy to ensure it continues to reach new listeners.

“We’re excited that Hannah’s joining the team so we can help even more podcasts become successful.”
