Podcast Radio enters content partnership with the National Trust

The agreement will see the station featuring podcasts about backpacking, cycle touring, walks, hikes and heritage houses.

Following the National Trust seeing and meeting Podcast Radio at the Podcast Show in London last May, the partnership was formed. The Trust is Europeโ€™s largest conservation charity and looks after Britainโ€™s nature, history and beauty.

The agreement will include interviews by one of Podcast Radioโ€™s podjocks – US broadcast veteran Gene Baxter, a 30-year veteran of the KROQ morning show in Los Angeles. He will talk to the people behind the scenes in the making of the podcasts.

Gerry Edwards, CEO of Podcast Radio, says: โ€œWeโ€™re really excited to be featuring some of the National Trustโ€™s rich podcast content. The National Trust podcasts tell wonderful stories and are beautifully produced and weโ€™re proud to have them on Podcast Radio.โ€

Michelle Douglass, Senior Podcast Producer at the National Trust says: โ€œWeโ€™re really pleased to be working with Podcast Radio to showcase some of our favourite episodes and point listeners to our huge back catalogue of arts, history, folklore, outdoor sport or nature stories and to inspire them on their next adventure, be it in real life or from the comfort of their armchair.โ€ ย

Among the National Trust podcasts to be featured on Podcast Radio are:

  • A Beginnerโ€™s Guide to Bike Packing โ€“ Jo Dyson embarks on a two-day adventure along the North Cornish Coast combining backpacking with cycle touring
  • Not Lost in Translation โ€“ Lowri Morgan hears the story of how the Welsh language has stayed alive
  • The Inventorโ€™s Playground โ€“ The story of an audacious Victorian inventor known as the Magician of the North
  • Operation Hillside โ€“ The story of Hughenden Manor where a National Trust volunteer happened to stumble across a fascinating secret from the past
