Realm expands entertainment podcast slate with Big IP Talent

Digital media distributor Realm has expanded its entertainment content vertical through its partnership with podcast manager and producer Big IP Talent.

The focus is on film, TV, tech, and pop culture podcasts, with Realm managing distribution, monetisation, and marketing, while Big IP Talent will continue to acquire new shows and oversee content strategy and audience growth.

The expanded line-up includes Raiders of the Lost Podcast, Bros & Shows, The John Campea Podcast, Dan Murrell, Adam Does Movies, Apple Bitz XL with Brian Tong, The Core: All Things Apple TV+, Movie Files, Sean Chandler Talks About Movies, and Star Wars Explained.

Most of these shows originated as YouTube channels, and the combined strategy will see them distributed across both video and RSS platforms.

“If your podcast isn’t on YouTube, you’re already behind,” said Molly Barton, CEO and Co-Founder of Realm.
She added that Realm’s partnership with Big IP provides scale on YouTube alongside its established position in entertainment, pop culture, and fandom podcasts on traditional audio platforms.

Realm’s network already features Unspooled, hosted by Paul Scheer and Amy Nicholson, rewatch podcasts such as Supernatural Then and Now and Buffering, IGN’s Geek Media network, and Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused.

Scott Porch, Founder and President of Big IP Talent, said: “There’s a huge benefit to having a big group of film and TV podcasts all in one place, and Realm is really experienced in this space from the work they’ve done with Netflix, DC, Paramount, Marvel, etc.

“Having this great roster of other Realm shows around for support will help us continue adding more creators, expanding audience, and developing new shows.”

The partnership comes as Realm and Big IP focus on the growing all-platform era of podcasting, where content is distributed and monetised across multiple channels.
