Romesh Ranganathan launches video podcast with first guest Michael Sheen

Ranga Bee, in partnership with Listen, has launched The Romesh Ranganathan Show, a new video podcast hosted by the BAFTA-winning comedian and presenter.

Episodes will release twice weekly, with Mondays dedicated to Romesh in conversation with high-profile guests, and Thursdays featuring his mother Shanthi, well-known from Asian Provocateur and Parents’ Evening.

Combining celebrity chat, comedy and family, the show walks the line between podcasting and traditional TV talk shows.

The first episode released today (22 September), features Michael Sheen, who discusses confidence in his career, the decision to hand back his OBE, and encounters with fans who have tattoos of his face.

Guests confirmed for the first run include Paloma Faith, Jamie Redknapp, Jameela Jamil, Jack Whitehall and Tim Minchin.

Thursdays will take a more personal turn, as Shanthi joins her son to catch up and respond to family-focused listener dilemmas with her distinct style of advice. Producers have noted that following any of Shanthi’s suggestions is strictly at listeners’ own risk.

The series promises conversations that balance humour with substance, ranging from discussions on identity and mental health to lighter topics like whether it is acceptable to sit naked on a hotel room chair.

Episodes will be available every Monday and Thursday across Spotify, YouTube and all major streaming platforms.
