Audible is to release Do Not Disturb, a bold new audio comedy drama created by actor and writer Sherise Blackman.
The drama follows Sade, Saffron and Raquel, three confident thirty-somethings from South London navigating friendship, desire and the pursuit of good sex.
Blackman stars as Sade alongside Saffron Coomber and comedian Judi Love, who makes her audio acting debut.
Known for her appearances on television and as a panellist on Loose Women, Judi Love said she was excited to take on a scripted audio role for the first time.
Do Not Disturb also features an impressive line-up of supporting talent including Richard Blackwood, Zeze Millz, David Ajala, Shiloh Coke and Martins Imhangbe.
For Blackman, who has appeared in Line of Duty and Bridgerton, this project marks her first venture into audio. She describes the series as a mix of chaos, comedy and emotional honesty that aims to reflect the reality of modern relationships in a way that is both sharp and unapologetically funny.
Speaking about the project, Blackman explained: “I created Do Not Disturb to put female desire front and centre – then cast myself in the eye of the storm.
“It’s bold, messy, and deliciously unfiltered. This is what happens when the group chat gets a mic… and I get the last word.”
The series highlights a wide range of Black British talent, with characters written to reflect authentic voices rarely heard in audio drama.
Do Not Disturb is available exclusively on Audible from today, 21 August. Membership may be required.
