The original creators of Soccer AM are returning with Soccer Amen, a new podcast-TV hybrid launching this Saturday, 9 August.
Hosted by Tim Lovejoy and featuring fellow Soccer AM alumni Robbie Knox, Tubes and Sheephead, the new show offers a twice-weekly take on football culture focusing on the sound, style, humour and identity that define football off the pitch.
Recorded at Tower Bridge Studios with a full visual setup, the series is designed as a fully watchable format, with episodes available on all major podcast platforms and YouTube, along with bonus comedy sketches and social content on TikTok and Instagram.
โWe wanted to make a show on TV, but realised it wouldnโt get commissioned,โ said Lovejoy. โSo we decided to make it ourselves. This is new TV.โ
Rather than cover stats or tactics, Soccer Amen explores the shared language of the sport, from chants and retro shirts to pub debates, fan rituals and off-pitch antics.
The podcast blends unscripted chat, sketches, audience interaction and guest appearances from pop culture figures who love the game, offering something distinctly different from traditional football media.
Lovejoy adds: โSoccer Amen is about the parts of football that actually get us talking – the stuff we debate in the pub, send in the group chat, or argue about in the stands.โ
Designed for long-time fans of Soccer AM and younger viewers raised on online culture, Soccer Amen combines nostalgia with high-end production to reinvent what a football podcast can be.
