Spotify is extending its Spotify Partner Program to Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Monaco from 18 November, opening up new monetisation opportunities for creators in the region.
The SPP, which launched earlier this year across the US, UK, Canada, Australia and several European countries, gives creators flexible ways to earn through video engagement from Premium users and ad revenue from Spotify Free and other podcast platforms.
It’s designed to help creators build more stable and diversified income streams while adapting to changing listener habits.
Spotify says the expansion reflects its continued investment in video and creator earnings. The company reports that its video podcast catalogue now includes nearly half a million shows, with over 390 million users having streamed a video podcast.
Video podcast listening on Spotify has increased by more than 80% since the SPP launched, with engagement in Sweden up almost 60% year on year.
In the first quarter of this year, Spotify paid more than $100 million to podcast publishers and creators globally. Hundreds of creators are now earning over $10,000 a month, with top earners exceeding six figures.
Through SPP, eligible creators in the Nordics can earn from Premium users’ video engagement, receive a share of ad revenue from other platforms, and keep 100% of their sponsorship income.
Spotify says this model gives creators more control and rewards authenticity, while providing Premium listeners with an uninterrupted, ad-free viewing experience.
