Surprise guests including Jack Whitehall appear at live Dish podcast show

Angela Hartnett and Nick Grimshaw brought their popular Waitrose podcast Dish to London’s Royal Opera House this evening for a special one-night-only live edition.

The 90-minute event recreated the intimate dinner party style of the podcast inside the venue’s main auditorium, with recipes, lively conversation and plenty of laughs.

The evening surprised the sold-out audience with a string of celebrity guests. Jack Whitehall was the headline guest, joining Hartnett and Grimshaw live on stage for chat and comedy moments. He was also welcomed by Mary Berry, who appeared as part of the line-up.

The guest list stretched further, reflecting the eclectic mix that Dish listeners have come to expect. Fitness coach Joe Wicks, DJ Annie Mac, presenter Miquita Oliver and actor Meshach Henry each joined in, along with Harry Clark and Jack Whitehall’s parents, Hilary and Michael Whitehall.

Dish has built a strong reputation since launching with Waitrose and tonight’s live show offered fans the chance to see the dynamic up close while celebrating the podcast’s ongoing success.

The event ended with an exclusive after-party on the fifth floor of the Royal Opera House, marking the launch of Angela Hartnett’s Cicoria and Bar Cicoria. The new venues are part of her expanding restaurant projects and were introduced to invited guests as the evening closed.
